$1 raw oysters were a huge hit for us. It was the reason we actually decided to stop in. Sat at the bar. Bartender was great answering questions and providing recommendations for food. Restaurant as a whole is very nice but still able to wear jeans and feel comfortable. Recommend and will be going back again.
Best seafood I ever had ! Great service and ambience!Highly recommend this restaurant
As you can see from my last review in October this is one of my top 5 local favorites for lunch or happy hour because of the high quality of food and consistency of service. I will summarize my three most recent visits here with our friends for happy hour at both the downstairs and upstairs bars: We recently met our friends at the upstairs bar on a Wednesday for happy hour. On Wednesdays they offer 25% off on some food items. I enjoyed my usual two Mai Tai's. I also enjoyed my dozen Craddock Creek buck a shuck oysters. I also enjoyed my tuna poke for the first time for $21. My tuna poke was discounted by 25% or $5.25 discount. The $16 camp burger was also discounted by 25% or $4. Our total 25% discount was $9.25. My bill was $78 excluding gratuity. Bartenders Maureen and Dylan E. served us very well. We returned here with our friends on a Tuesday for Tyler's fund raiser, because Catch 54 was swamped with Tyler's close relatives and friends. The locals will know what I mean by Tyler's fund raiser at Sodel restaurants. The downstairs Matt's bar was full, therefore we went to the upstairs bar. I enjoyed my two usual Mai Tai's. I also enjoyed my dozen of Craddock Creek, Virginia and Chunu, Virginia buck a shuck oysters for $12. I also enjoyed my happy hour creole mussels for $12. My bill was $77 excluding gratuity. Bartender Dylan served us very well as usual. We returned here at 4 pm for happy hour at the downstairs bar. I enjoyed my usual two Mai Tai's. We also enjoyed our 18 briny Chunu, Virginia raw oysters for $18. I also shared and enjoyed the happy hour deviled eggs for $10. I also enjoyed my usual happy hour creole mussels for $12. Our bartender Allison W. served us very well as usual. Allison knows us so she is very friendly. Our total bill was $82 excluding gratuity. We all agreed we will continue to return here for happy hour. Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Yelp friends!
My parents and I dined here on a Thursday in January around 6pm. We were seated immediately despite quite a crowd of people inside. Kelsey W was our server and she did an excellent job. She was attentive and friendly. We started with the parker house rolls and the onion rings appetizer. The parker house rolls were heavenly. Fresh, soft, warm bread paired with the maple-honey butter. You definitely won't be disappointed ordering them. The onion rings were delicious as well. The batter was light and the paprika gave it a nice kick. The dipping sauce pairing well with them. I also ordered a Matt's homemade soda in the black cherry flavor. It was great. I ordered the chicken and dumplings. The dish was huge and heavy. It was packed with chicken, gnocchi, pearl onions, carrots, swiss chard, and chicken gravy. It was certainly a unique take on chicken and dumplings. My dad ordered the baked crab cakes, which came with waffle fries and coleslaw. The waffle fries were crispy and delicious. He enjoyed the slaw. The crab cakes were a decent size and had a ton of lumps throughout. My mom ordered the fried cod sandwich with chips and coleslaw. The chips were homemade and she enjoyed them. The inside of her bun was a little burnt, but it was soft on top. The batter for the fish was flavored well and the cod was flaky and fresh. This was our first time here. We're interested in trying the other locations. We would definitely return!
This place has great Happy Hour prices! It's become one of me and my friends favorite spots at the beach to go for happy hour drinks and food. The service was amazing! Our server Peyton, was very friendly and attentive. She made sure we were satisfied with everything we were served. We've had her multiple times and each time she was great. The Buck a Shuck deal is definitely worth a try!
Emily was amazing! She was attentive but not pushy and very kind. Loved her advice on what to order. I got the clam chowder and the salmon fish board. Will definitely be back while I'm in town to try the oysters and scallops!
Tasty! Tasty! Tasty! Great service by Kaitlin. We are the Parker house rolls. Yummy!!! I had tuna poke style..I missed the rice but left an empty plate...still very nice. The fried Cod sandwich was terrific as were the fried scallop platter. Cute place!!!!
Being in Delaware, I knew I had to get some seafood and Matt's looked pretty good. With that known, I started things off with some New England clam chowder. Thankfully, I received the chowder fairly quickly and dug in. Having said that, the clam chowder was very tasty. To explain, it was creamy and flavorful. In addition, the clams tasted fresh and the soup was loaded with them. It was an enjoyable clam chowder. Next, I ordered the cold lobster roll with waffle fries and the results were similar to the chowder. To put into words, the lobster was tender and fresh. Furthermore, the lobster had just the right amount of mayonnaise. Likewise, the roll was toasted nicely and matched well with the lobster. My only problem was that the lobster roll had lettuce in it which was completely unnecessary. Despite that, it was still a good lobster roll. In the same vein, the waffle fries were good as well. They were hot, crispy, and seasoned. I enjoyed them very much. As expressed, Matt's Fish Camp is a really good seafood restaurant.
